What is a laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal uses the latest technology to permanently reduce body and facial hair.

Laser hair removal uses a short pulses laser that only targets the melanin in your hair follicle to gradually heat and damage it and prevent regrowth. It can be used on all areas of your body including under arms, bikini line, back, upper lip, cheeks, chin, ears and nostrils to remove unwanted hair.

Laser hair removal can selectively target unwanted hairs while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged so it can be used on all skin types including tanned skin.

What does laser hair removal involve?

An anaesthetic is not necessary for this treatment.

You will be given protective eyewear to protect your eyes from the light generated during treatment.

Your practitioner will pass the hand-held applicator over your skin in the treatment area. Each laser pulse treats several hairs at a time in a fraction of a second. Treatment is quick, with smaller areas taking just five minutes.

Laser hair removal treatment is performed every six weeks on your body and every four weeks on your face, to ensure all hairs are caught in their most receptive phase of their growing cycle.

The number of sessions will differ from person to person with a minimum of six treatments being required for optimum results and permanent hair reduction.

Is laser hair removal safe?

Laser hair removal is a safe procedure with minimal risks and rare complications. You may experience mild irritation, itching and redness of your skin in the treated area for up to 48 hours.

Your practitioner will carry out a patch test at least 24 hours before your first treatment and they will discuss the possible risks with you in detail before commencing treatment.

What is the cost of laser hair removal?

The cost of laser hair removal will depend on the area being treated.

Your practitioner will let you know the cost of your treatment and the number of treatments they anticipate being required to achieve the full hair removal you desire.
