Following the lifting of restrictions by the Government, we would like to reassure all our patients that the way we interact with you will not be changing. All staff and consultants will continue to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing, and we require our patients and visitors to do the same, so that we are all protected.

Colorectal Surgery

Colorectal surgery

The traditional view of haemorrhoid treatment was the fear of the pain and discomfort following surgery (“like passing a hedgehog through a straw,”) although new techniques and approaches have improved this. We aim to ‘face-lift your bottom and return the smile to your face.’

Anal fissures

Traditional treatment involved the cutting of the internal muscle of the anal sphincter and we now see patients who have a mild leakage of material from their bottom. New non-invasive techniques have replaced this and if surgery is indicated then the techniques are discussed.

Anal bulking

Intra-anal collagen injections have proved useful in patients with weak anal sphincters or defects from surgery and we are one of the UK’s leaders in the use of porcine collagen in colorectal surgery.

Functional Bowel Disease

Do you do the Debenhams Dash or have M&S Syndrome?

Does a journey outside the home lead to a planning exercise of ‘safe and clean public toilets.’

Many women suffer from these symptoms putting them down to age and childbirth, for many symptoms can be improved and quality of life returned.

Screening for bowel cancer – Are you concerned about your risks?

With a background of medical genetics and an open discussion the risks and benefits of screening can be performed.

Bowel cancer

Mr Daniels is recognised as a leader in the management of bowel cancer in the UK, both for primary disease and recurrence or complex bowel cancer. If you are concerned or have questions to ask, don’t hold back.

Colostomies and ileostomies need not restrict your life. Mr Daniels is honorary President of Devon Ileostomy Association and runs a Problem Stoma Clinic with Sr Yvonne Evans who is a Senior Stoma Nurse and together we give you and your stoma an MOT!
